Our easy custom design process

Design consultation

Start with an appointment with the designer. Bring any pictures and ideas you may already have. We will be happy to help refine and cultivate your ideas into YOUR exclusive gown. If you are not quite sure what you are looking for, we can start by trying on gowns from the Red Velvet collection. Once we have the design sketched, we can choose the materials and price out your gown. We will also take your measurements to draft your pattern.

Fittings

We will do multiple fittings along the way to ensure a perfect fit and that it is coming together just the way you envisioned it. It is important to bring your wedding shoes to these appointments as soon as possible. We can also use this time to add or tweak any details. By the time your gown is finished, no other alterations will be needed.

The big day

To ensure you look and feel fabulous on your special day, we will be happy to steam and press your gown one more time the week of your wedding.

Timeline

We are committed to quality and an impeccable fit for every gown we create. Your last fitting should be no more then four weeks before your wedding to insure everything is perfect day of. That being said, our design studios dedication to each gown dictates restrictions on the quantity of contracts at any give time. To guarantee your timeline we recommended placing your order as soon as you make your decision.

Q&A – Questions and Answers

How long does it take to make a dress?

It takes a minimum of three weeks, timelines very based on complexity of design. For a relaxed and comfortable experience, we recommend six weeks to three months. It is always a good idea to start sooner rather than later, especially during the busy summer months. We may also need to make a special order for your material, so book early to avoid disappointment.

I like more then one dress! Can I combine the ideas?

YES! This is one of the major benefits of our boutique. Since every gown is created right here, we can accommodate ANY wishes you may have.

Where are the dresses made?

Right here in our boutique! We are delighted to be able to bring our customers a product that is NOT made overseas, but locally here in Kelowna, BC.

Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?

Although they are not required, appointments are recommended  in order to give you the full attention of our designer.

How do I pay for my gown?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, debit, as well as cash and personal cheques (personal cheques are only accepted for deposit, not final payment). If you are ordering a special-order gown, we require a 50% deposit at the time you order. When the gown is ready for pickup,  we require payment of the remainder.

What size gowns are available for me to try on?

Most of our samples range between size 38 to 44 (6 to 12), although we do have samples in sizes 34 to 48 (2 to 16). You can, of course, have any gown custom made in any size.

Will I get my deposit back if the wedding is cancelled?

No, the deposit covers the cost of your materials which cannot be re-cut, therefore deposits cannot be refunded.

Will I need alterations?

No, all our gowns are fitted exactly to your measurements. You won’t need to budget for alterations. To provide a perfect fit, we will do a couple of fitting along the way.

What should I bring to my first fitting?

You should bring the shoes and undergarments you are planning to wear on your wedding day. This will ensure a perfect fit.

How many fittings will I need?

Most brides require 3-5 fittings for an ideal fit. After the final fitting, we will also press your gown one more time. This is best done the week of your wedding, so it will be picture perfect.
